It is dependent upon the workload and the quality of the submission. The LAFD Plan Check is more efficient when the submittal addresses the local amendments and provides a complete set of drawings with the correct calculations. An incomplete submittal will result in multiple comment cycles and will take several weeks. We pride ourselves on submitting a complete response and doing Plan Checks quickly.
Yes. Having new partition walls and dropped ceilings changes head spacing and coverage. We modify branch lines and submit new drawings. We also assess possible testing around the buildout. Older buildings may not identify undocumented piping until the ceilings are open and we quote that work.
